On May 24, Korea University¡¯s (KU) Innovation,Competition & Law Center (ICR) is going to be hosting an academicconference at Empark Grand Hotel Beijing. The subject of the conference will be "Recent Trends of IT Industry RestructuringWorldwide & Regulatory Reactions of Korea and China." ICR Center was established in year 2012,and since then, has conducted in-depth researches regarding the law regarding competitionlaw, regulation law and intellectual property law. The center also held variousseminars in order to share their reports.
The ICR center further extends to foreigncountries. During September, last year, KU¡¯s ICR center and Renmin Universityof China¡¯s Economic Law Research Center established a joint center named China-KoreaMarket& Regulation Law Center (MRLC). It will be the first event that MRLChosts after being founded. The office of MRLC is located in both countries.
During the conference, the two countrieswill be discussing the technological revolution and the intellectual propertyrights. Furthermore, the topic will include how the future law should bedirected. Specifically, the issues regarding the China government¡¯sinterference will be dealt in the conference. It will also include some of therecent issues in South Korea regarding intellectual property rights.
In order to attend this conference,professional from both South Korea and China will go to Beijing. At a pressconference regarding the seminar, MRLC claimed that the ¡°the center will becontributing to establish an efficient and sound laws regarding intellectual propertyrights and the competition. ¡°
