On October 6, the Age Lab of Korea University (KU), a subdivision of the KU Global Institute for Japanese Studies, signed a collaboration contract with GS ITM. The contract is aimed at providing an opportunity to develop live educational infrastructure for workers changing jobs while also expanding the Business-to-business (B2B) job exchange education market. It signals a new step towards helping the latest generation of retired workers adjust into a new profession.

GS ITM plans to provide the *GetSmart* service, a simple-to-use digital corporation education platform aimed at providing service for the older generations, along with the development of educational content based on their previous experience with customer-focused operations. The KU Age Lab will work on such infrastructure by funding research into aging societies, supporting senior business experts, and educating retirees looking for new jobs.

Professor Chae Seong-sik (Japanese Language and Literature), the president of the Global Institute for Japanese Studies, expressed how “our society is moving into an inverted pyramid society, represented by our extremely low birth rates and an aging population.” He further explained how “today’s contract is monumental in that it not only works towards improving the public’s perception of aging societies in general, but also provides a practical solution to the problem itself.”
