Son Young Soo (‘73, Department of Economics), the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Dosol, has recently donated 200,900,000 Korean Won (KRW) in order to support Korea University (KU)’s ambition to foster young students. Mr. Son has been constantly donating for KU since 2005 for various purposes such as funding the College of Political Science and Economics and alumni association. In appreciation of his generous contributions to the school, a scholarship donation ceremony was held at the President’s office on March 28.

During the ceremony, Mr. Son stated that “Donations contain the interests and encouragements of alumni.” He then added that he has been sponsoring the creative activities of KU’s Korean Language and Literature students for three years, demonstrating his interest into supporting students across diverse fields of study.

KU President Kim Dong-One addressed the contribution expressing his gratitude for the love that Mr. Son has displayed for his alma mater over the course of nearly twenty years. President Kim then emphasized the timeliness of the donation stating that “the funds will be used to enhance KU’s infrastructure and to nurture its future leaders as the school is approaching its 120th anniversary.”
