On September 5, a campus wall poster addressed towards Korea University Student Union (KUSU) was posted beside the West Gate. The poster was written by Lee Il-hee (’11, Health Policy and Management), the head of the executive committee of the rally held on August 23, which denounced the corrupt admission scandal surrounding KU.

The poster mainly criticized KUSU for its incapacity in organizing the second rally which was held on August 30. The preparation, promotion, organization, and management were all inept and lacking in direction, leading the rally to be out of order with only a small number of participants compared to the first rally. In addition, it pointed out that the chairperson for the rally was neither the President and Vice President of KUSU nor a member of the Central Steering Committee (CSC), but the former President of the College of Science. This could be implying that KUSU was not being fully responsible for the rally hosted by itself.

Furthermore, the poster commented that KUSU did not follow the decisions made by the CSC. The CSC is the top legislative organization which reflects KU students’ opinions, including the President and Vice President of KUSU as a member. Despite the fact that the CSC unanimously called for a second rally, KUSU stated that it will not be able to organize the rally to its fullest due to the lack of cooperation from the Central Executive Committee (CEC). The poster asserted that such elucidation is irresponsible and inadequate, as it is the authority of KUSU to take the lead of CEC and carry out the decisions made by the CSC.

In conclusion, Lee stressed that KUSU must sufficiently accomplish its job as the representative of KU. By strongly requesting to listen attentively to the voices of KU students, the poster ended with a heavy emphasis on asking KUSU to reveal the assumptions and truth of current issues surrounding KU at present.
