On February 15, 11:00 A.M., a press conference hosted by SYNERGY and KU Joint Committee of the Instruction Acts was held in front of the Main Hall. The press conference was held to resolve the sharp decrease in the number of classes and to encourage correct implementation of the Instruction Act.

The conference was commenced by the brief explanation from Kim Ga-young—the president of Korea University Student Union (KUSU). Kim explained how the conflict developed between SYNERGY and the school. Drastic fall of the number of courses led KUSU to take active action against the school such as gathering signatures, promoting relay picketing and sending four request proposals. Yet, related authorities did not give any feedback despite repeated requests. ¡°We are holding this conference as a final stand,¡± insisted Kim.

Violation of KU student¡¯s education rights and the instructors¡¯ right is the main problems triggered by KU¡¯s decision. President of College of the Education Emergency Planning Committee, Kim Da-Heok ('14, Education) presented that students from Physical Education are not able to register for Teacher Education courses since most of those courses require instructors, criticizing the irony of future educators not being able to receive appropriate education. The manifesto recited at the end also highlighted irony and emphasized the importance of protecting education rights of KU students in the future.
